[Feel free to use this post to have your character call, videochat, text, or run into Root in person!
Root is an antisocial little weirdo who presents as friendly, but who in actuality keeps a lot of walls up. Unless she ICly shares the information with your character, please don't assume that they're able to connect her network persona to her IRL persona(/personas.......) !
If your character has powers that would allow them to suss her out, I'm fine with that; I'm also fine with them sharing the info with others.
More info about Root and her identity situation can be found here (under IC PERMISSIONS -> OTHER / NOTES).]

action;
[Edward doesn’t bother to sign his name. He assumes everyone will be able to figure out who was responsible.]
action;
Root doesn't send him a note in return - physical, analog letter-writing isn't something she has the patience for - but he may notice that the spider is given prime real estate on her passenger side dashboard. And though she spends as little time as possible inside the main convoy train itself, she does happen to pass him in one of its narrow halls at one point, and she reaches out to squeeze his arm.]
Thank you - for making me feel welcome.
action;
Of course.
[In her mind: :) ]
We only have each other to rely on, after all. How have you been settling in, now that we're on the road again?
action;
[She says, though her expression very much says the opposite.]
I never went to college, so it's fun to finally experience dorm life, twenty years late. At least I have the car.
[That is, at least she can take off on her own as often as possible.]

You never attended university? You're so clever, I assumed you had.
[He can relate to the dorm life part, though.]
You're welcome to come by my trailer for a meal, if you'd ever like a break from the dining car. I'm not the best cook on the planet, but I do have a supply of fresh eggs now.
jfc not me CONTINUALLY forgetting that he's blind, i'm sorry, i'll drill it into my brain someday
[She says this breezily. There had been a time - long, long ago, when she was much, much younger - when she'd coveted the idea of college as a way to get out of her hometown. But that had been before she'd realized how deep the rot in humanity went - and before she found other avenues for escape.]
Where are you getting fresh eggs around here? I've been living on snacks.
[Feed her, Edward. She's fine with subsisting on just one or two food groups, but her body isn't.]
haha it's fine, he really doesn't act like he is most of the time
Have you seen the white chickens roaming about? I took four with me from the last farm.
[And since webs are made of protein strands and Edward hasn't yet gotten to the point where he'll eat them once he's done spinning them, he needs to eat a lot of protein. Hence, the eggs.]

Even when I was a country gal, I wasn't the farming type. But if you're offering to make me an omelet, how can I say no?
no subject
Were you a more genteel, land-owning country gal?
[Gently teasing! Root doesn't seem like the type.]
Yes, I can make you an omelet. Do you like fried eggs as well? They're very nice fried.
[He carefully unfolds himself from the table he has apparently been sitting at this whole time and stands, offering her his arm.]
Here, I'll introduce you to the flock. So far, only one has a name. I'm taking suggestions for the other three, if you've any ideas.
no subject
What's the first one named? They're a flock; they should match.
no subject
His name is Lord Earl Cluckner.
[Please get the reference, Root. No else has yet.]
But I'm certainly not opposed to giving the others less dated names.
no subject
How about a Lady, a Dutchess, and a President?

[Edward breaks into a smile at her suggestions.]
Those are lovely titles. What names should go with them?
